Dr. Padmini Coopamah Waldron is Associate Professor of Political Science at Sweet Briar College, Virginia, USA. Her areas of expertise and research interest lie in international development and the political economy of developing areas, specifically in sub-Saharan Africa. Her current research project focuses on the partnership between the public and private sectors in development. Dr. Coopamah is originally from Mauritius and has done fieldwork in Botswana and South Africa. During her time at Sweet Briar College, she has served as department chair of the Department of Government and International Affairs, and has served on numerous committees such as International Studies, Instructional Technology, and Gender Studies. Dr. Coopamah holds a B.A. (Honors) in French from the University of Mauritius and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Arizona.
