The American Campus has gathered a group of educators and administrators from the United States and across the globe. Each member of our team has a unique educational and professional background, allowing us to best serve our diverse student body. Our team is passionate about using their unique skills and talents to help others reach their potential. Spalding Jugganaikloo

President and Founder

Originally from Mauritius, Jugganaikloo is an executive leader with years of experience in Information Technology in higher education.

He is an innovative and creative thinker in the use of technology to increase efficiency and enhance teaching and learning.

He is a visionary and strategic planner with a rich cultural background and a broad educational foundation. Jugganaikloo has a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from BYU-Hawaii, a master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University, and a master’s in Educational Technology from Idaho State University.

He is currently completing a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Idaho State University.

Jaime Moquin

Executive Director for Student Experience

Jaime Moquin’s career has been dedicated to improving the lives of young people for nearly 20 years. She has taught elementary school, spent many years in postsecondary admissions, and currently works for ACT.

Leading with enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, Jaime has successfully directed the creation and launch of new products, nurtured and developed partner relationships, and executed strategic initiatives to advance students’ lives.

Jaime received a BS in Elementary Education from Northland College and an MS from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in Educational Leadership.

Ganesh

Dr. Ganeshen Chelumbrun

Associate Provost, Instructions

Dr Chelumbrun has extensive experience in higher education. He worked as a lecturer at Napier University, The University of Mauritius, and University of Technology. Dr Chelumbrun has significant higher education leadership experience working as a Dean for the faculty of law and management at the University of Seychelles.

During his 5 years in Seychelles he also developed a Bar Vocational Course which got the approval of the Seychelles’ Judiciary and is now being implemented to train law graduates for practice in Seychelles. He has strong communication and decision-making skills; and has experience evaluating, encouraging, and motivating staff and students. He has a proactive nature with exceptional leadership abilities.

Dr Chelumbrun has a BSc. Chemistry and Biology from Panjab University, an MBA from Greenwich University, a PhD in Marketing from Greenwich University, and an LLB.(Hons.) from Wolverhampton University. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Farah

Dr. Farah Lollmahomed

Executive Director of Research and Planning

Dr Farah Lollmahomed received her PhD in chemistry from McMaster University. She subsequently spent 2 years as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, where she developed nanomaterials for biomedical applications.

Her research findings have been published in several scientific journals and she has given numerous presentations worldwide. Furthermore, Farah has over 10 years of experience teaching undergraduate students and advises students through their career development. Backed by her wide academic experience and lean six sigma approach, she works closely with the management team to bring projects to execution. With both educational and cultural experience in North America and Mauritius, Farah seamlessly brings the two worlds together at TAC.

 

Anjulie Megha

Executive Marketing Director

After completing her Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) Anjulie chose to specialize in the marketing field.

Her previous experiences have been in the Customer Service department at the national airline company in Mauritius and as Marketing and Recruitment Executive in a prestigious British university established in Mauritius.

She has been involved in recruiting and counselling students for six years.

Anjulie is also active in hosting Junior youth programs for the empowerment of youngsters in the society.

Mario Ramiah

Executive Director of Facility Services

Ramiah has worked as a Chief Work Officer for the Central Water Authority in Mauritius.  He has a curious mind and is interested in new technology. 

Ramiah has  extensive experience with constructions and maintenance of facilities. 

He is an active member of society and he  has been actively practicing Karate for over 20 years.

Audra

Audra Waite

Academic Support Director

Waite is an educator with experience across a wide variety of ages and disciplines.  She holds a Bachelor degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Master of Teacher Education from Eastern Oregon University.

Her graduate work included Elementary Education, English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Spanish.  Waite has taught in Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, and Adult Education classrooms.

Her roles have also included tutoring students in secondary and college preparation Math and English, as well as career advising.

She also works as a Spanish interpreter for various schools and organizations and volunteers her time helping people through the process of immigration in the United States.

James

Dr. James Thomas

Associate Provost, Academic Partnership

Emeritus Professor of Agriculture and International Development at Utah State University, Dr. Thomas has extensive experience in educational development in foreign countries.

At USU, he was the Director of International Programs, International Agriculture Specialist, Plant Science Department Head, and Associate Dean of Agriculture.

He also served as the Senior Advisor to the President for the creation of the new Arab American University of Jenin (West Bank). In AAUJ’s 14 years, it has grown to over 7,500 students, 6 colleges, and 3 graduate programs.

Dr. Thomas holds BS and MS degrees from USU, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Francis

Francis Nmeribe

Advisory Board

Born and raised in Nigeria, Nmeribe currently serves as the International Security Manager for a global religious organization.

Previously, he worked in the Nigerian government as a Principal Security Intelligence Officer for 22 years.

He has over 30 years of experience in both civil and industrial security. A prolific writer, he is the author of hundreds of articles and 8 books.

Nmeribe holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and an advanced diploma in Public Administration, both from the University of Calabar in Nigeria.

 

 

Fenton

Dr. Fenton Broadhead

Advisory Board

Dr. Broadhead has worked at Ricks College/Brigham Young University–Idaho since 1987. 

He served in the Dean of Students’ office, as a faculty member in the Department of Economics, and the Dean of the College of Business and Communication. Currently, he is the Academic Vice President.

Dr. Broadhead earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Education Leadership from Brigham Young University.

He holds a doctorate degree in Education Administration with a cognate in Economics from the University of Idaho.

Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim

Advisory Board

Dr. Gurib-Fakim has been the managing director at the Centre for Phytotherapy Research (CEPHYR) for the past 4 years.

She has spent over 15 years in higher education serving as a Dean of Faculty of Science and a Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Mauritius.

She has taught Chemistry at graduate and postgraduate levels for over 20 years.

During her academic career, she created a phytochemistry laboratory to analyze medicinal plants. Gurib-Fakim earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Surrey and a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Exeter.

Lori

Dr. Loretta Palmer

Advisory Board

Dr. Palmer is an emeritus professor and former Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs at Utah Valley University.

She received a doctorate in Instructional Psychology and Technology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She has served as department chair/director over developmental math, distance education, digital media, international programs, and technology intensive curriculum development. Much of her research is focused on intellectual property and higher education program evaluation/assessment.

She has extensive international experience having lived/worked at universities in Mauritius, Namibia, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, and as a Senior Fulbright Specialist for academic evaluation/assessment in Azerbaijan.

Beverly

Dr. Beverly Neville

Advisory Board

Dr. Neville received a PhD in Health Promotion and Education from the University of Utah. She has taught for 18 years as adjunct faculty for five traditional and online universities.

 She has significant executive experience in the health services arena and has worked at the Salt Lake County Health Department in several positions including Community Health Division Director and Health Promotion Bureau Manager. She has served as president of the Utah Public Health Association and Utah Nutrition Council, and Board Member of the Utah Health Policy Project.

She has contributed to humanitarian projects in Utah, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic and has conducted research on all seven continents.

Dr. Carrie Wojenski

Advisory Board

Dr. Wojenski is the Associate Vice Provost for Global Academic Programs in the Center for International Education and Global Strategy with the University at Albany, an institution within the State University of New York (SUNY) system. 

Dr. Wojenski provides leadership for all aspects of the Global Academic Programs, including education abroad, international scholarships, and globally-focused academics.  Prior to her position at the University at Albany, she acted as the senior international officer within the academic affairs division at Sacred Heart University. 

Dr. Wojenski holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, a M.A. in International Education from the SIT Graduate Institute and an Ed.D. in the Design of Learning Environments from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Dr. Deborah Ballard-Reisch

Provost & Academic Vice President

Dr. Deborah Ballard-Reisch has over 30 years of experiencing teaching and conducting research in U.S. universities, teaching judges around the world, and serving as a consultant for business, organizations, health providers, and individuals. She was honored by Wichita State University in 2017 at the completion of her ten-year term as the Kansas Health Foundation Distinguished Chair in Strategic Communication and Professor at the Elliott School of Communication. In 2007, she was similarly honored by the University of Nevada, Reno, when she retired as a professor in Public Health.

She was also the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to Russia where she taught at Kazan State University for a year and a Fulbright Alumni Initiatives grant through which she researched women’s health in the Tatarstan Republic of Russia.

Dr. Ballard-Reisch emphasizes healthy communication and relationships in all contexts. She is perhaps best known for her work in strategic communication, judicial education and training around the globe, and her work as an activist fighting world hunger. Dr. Ballard-Reisch has written and/or contributed to over 60 books and academic publications and her work has been cited by other writers more than 1500 times. She recently completed a three-year term as Publisher of the journal “Women and Language.”

 

Dr. Allen Palmer

Faculty

Dr. Palmer has taught at universities for more than 35 years. His teaching and research deals with international communication, mass media and society, and the cultural history of communication.

He has published articles and chapters in numerous academic journals and professional anthologies; received four academic and professional fellowships, including Fulbright Scholarships, Rotary International Fellowship, American Society of Newspaper Editors Fellowship.

Palmer has been director of International Media Studies in the Communications Department, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah; Cardin Chair of Humanities at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland; Head, International Communications Division for International Association of Media & Communication Research (IAMCR); Visiting professor in Kyrgyz Republic, Kosovo, Namibia, Benin, Mauritius, Philippines; and has been advisory board member for several national journals and academic publisher.

Anju

Anju Rambaruth

Faculty

Anju Rambaruth is a creative, strategic and innovative Business consultant. She has broad based experience in Strategic Brand Management, Marketing, Sales, and Financial Services derived from numerous roles in multinationals, financial and retail businesses in Mauritius, South Africa and UK.

She achieves success by recognizing trends and develops creative solutions that leverage the most up-to-date tools in support of marketing and sales goals. She is an agile problem solver with over 10 years experience managing teams across multiple business units including marketing, sales, finance, and customer service.

She has demonstrated the ability to create rapport & strategic partnerships with people and organizations from all walks of life, cultural and national backgrounds efficiently. She is driven and passionate about woman empowerment and is engaged in projects which contribute towards building capacity among SMEs in Mauritius.

Anju has an MBA from University of Surrey, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, as well as a BSc with majors in Biochemistry and Microbiology from University of Cape Town.

Jonathan

Jonathan Neville

Faculty

Jonathan Neville is an educator, lawyer, businessman, and author.

He earned a Juris Doctor degree and Master of Science in Agribusiness from Brigham Young University.

He has taught college courses for 12 years in a variety of fields including environmental science, critical thinking, communications and writing.

He was a law clerk for the chief justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court, and practiced law as a prosecutor, defender and corporate counsel. He has written over forty books, including legal commentaries, historical accounts and fiction.

Padmini

Dr. Padmini C. Waldrom

Faculty

Dr. Padmini Coopamah Waldron is Associate Professor of Political Science at Sweet Briar College, Virginia, USA. Her areas of expertise and research interest lie in international development and the political economy of developing areas, specifically in sub-Saharan Africa.

Her current research project focuses on the partnership between the public and private sectors in development. Dr. Coopamah is originally from Mauritius and has done fieldwork in Botswana and South Africa.

During her time at Sweet Briar College, she has served as department chair of the Department of Government and International Affairs, and has served on numerous committees such as International Studies, Instructional Technology, and Gender Studies. Dr. Waldrom holds a B.A. (Honors) in French from the University of Mauritius and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Arizona.

Sandya Mayeputh

Administration Assistant

Our Administration Assistant, Sandya Mayeputh has studied up to the SC level of schooling in Mauritius.

She has eight years of experience as a French customer service agent, and an additional three years of experience in the administrative field.

Sandya is fascinated by communication and is passionate about building and sharing professional relationships.

She is a curious and studious asset to our team, and is motivated by the progression of the university as a whole.

Emma Jugganaikloo

Student Services Director

Emma is a young professional with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications and an Intercultural Peacebuilding Certificate from Brigham Young University- Hawaii.

She has 2 years of experience working as a Career Mentor, where she helped a diverse array of university level students to understand themselves and to narrow down their desired career path.

Emma is a certified MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) practitioner and has 2 years of experience using the MBTI to mentor university students, conduct workshops, and host lectures.

She believes that education can change the world and is inspired by the diversity that people have to offer.
