Department Chair, Department of Agriculture

Dr. Sleight retired from the University of Nebraska in 2012 where he served as Dean for the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. During his tenure at NCTA, he was instrumental in the infusion of entrepreneurship across the entire curriculum. He also worked at Utah State University for 32 years, during which time he held several faculty and administrative positions and was instrumental in the development of telecommunication systems, branch campuses, centers and outreach degree programs throughout Utah, several western states, and Asia. In addition, he was the Director of International Programs for the College of Agriculture at USU where he had extensive experience administering international programs in many developing countries. Dr. Sleight earned BS and MS degrees from Utah State University and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
