The good news is, the process to obtain a student visa in Mauritius is relatively simple, but you must pay attention to the details to ensure that you submit all the forms correctly.

To get a student visa, follow these three simple steps:

1. Enroll into an accedited educational program.
2. Submit digital and physical copies of your visa documents.
3. Receive a provisional student visa and come to Mauritius.
4. Take a medical test in Mauritius and submit your results.

Detailed breakdown of the student visa process:

1. Enroll into an accedited educational program.
• Before submitting any visa documents, you must apply and be accepted into an accredited educational program and pay any required fees.
2. Submit digital and physical copies of your visa documents.
   

   How to submit your documents:

   • First, you should submit digital copies of all documents by email to our admissions team at admissions@tac.education.
   • Then, you should submit original copies of all documents, excluding your passport, by post (DHL recommended) to the address listed below and send the tracking number to admissions@tac.education.

   List of Required Documents:
   • Visa Application Form: Form “Application to Enter Mauritius” completed and signed by the applicant. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Passport: Photocopy of the bio-data pages of the passport. Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the scheduled start date for classes. Email scanned copy. DO NOT send your original passport by post.
   • Passport Photos: Four recent passport size photographs. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Acceptance letter: Letter from student agreeing to take up the proposed course. At The American Campus, we provie an outline to students on page 2 of their offer letter. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Certificate of Character: Letter from student’s local police stating their criminal record and any previous convictions or lack thereof. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • School Results: Copy of HSC/SC or O-level/A-level results and any other previous school certificats. Email a digital copy.
   • Proof of Funding: Bank statement for the past 6 months, demonstrating financial ability to meet required costs for the duration of the program. It must be under the name of the student or the name of the sponsor. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Sponsorship Confirmation: Letter from financial sponsor and copy of sponsor’s ID, or a letter from the student stating that they will sponsor themselves. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Medical Certificate: Certificate verifying that the student is not suffering from any contagious or infectious disease, including test for HIV, Hepatitis B and a chest X-ray. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
   • Proof of Accommodation: Sign and submit your housing contract. Email digital copy, then mail original document by post.
3. Receive your provisional student visa and come to Mauritius.
• After submitting the required visa documents, you will recieve your provisional student visa to enter Mauritius. You may then book your ticket and come to Mauritius. Be sure to email our admissions team at admissions@tac.education to inform them of your arrival so they can assist you with the arrival.
4. Take a medical test in Mauritius and submit your results.
• After arriving in Mauritius, a second medical test for HIV, Hepatitis B and a chest X ray must be completed and submitted within one month after arrival. Our team will coordinate this with you after your arrival. Please note that the estimated cost you will need to pay for this test is 2500-3000 MUR, or $60-$75 US Dollars.
• Our team will submit the results to the Passport and Immigration Office in Mauritius, and you will be notified when your final student visa is ready.
